Amy Romano CNM, MSNChildbirth Connection’s former Transforming Maternity Care Partnership Director will oversee the new Maternity Neighborhood, a series of modular tools for client engagement, patient-centered outcomes research, and clinical quality improvement that can securely exchange data on Private Practice’s innovative technology platform.
Amy brings tremendous expertise and a passionate vision for a woman-centered, evidence-based maternity care system to Private Practice. Her leadership has helped shape many national quality improvement efforts, and in her role at Private Practice she will be guiding the development of our health IT solutions to implement and strengthen these efforts.

In her role at Childbirth Connection, Amy has helped lead the first national maternity care shared decision making initiative, pregnantMe, and consulted on the American College of Nurse-Midwives’ Physiologic Birth Toolkit, BirthTOOLS. She is also the co-author of Optimal Care in Childbirth: The Case for a Physiologic Approach, ACNM’s 2013 Book of the Year.
