History and context

We are excited to share with you this talk Brynne gave in the spring at the opening ceremony of the Tom Tom Founders Festival. She discusses what is inherent in every birth we attend: opportunity, resources and potential.

This talk features some context of our local birth outcomes here in Charlottesville, Virginia; mentions the Grand Midwives of our region; and addresses the challenge we are taking on here at Maternity Neighborhood: marrying the personal connection and community essential to midwifery with the power of data to make changes on a large scale.

“I can’t think of anything more valuable than us improving and thinking about what we can do for maternity care,” – Brynne Potter
